Bylines
An independent media foundation focused on producing borderless pan-European coverage through magazine production and collaborative media organizations across the continent

From brainstorming a central idea, vetting pitches, writing, editing with contributors, and managing contracts I got to experience the production of a magazine start to finish and gained invaluable skills.

Following up to the 2024 European Union elections, I was tasked with telling a story about elections related to my identity: a German-American citizen.

Editorial Work
I did all things magazine here, from managing inventory and shipping, to digitizing past issues' works for web in WordPress and vetting pitches from contributors.
Here, I worked a reporting on city and county government, covering topics from municipal waste systems to transportation issues
A comparative investigative piece about how transit services in Columbia, Mo. compare to similarly sized cities in the Midwest.
A piece demonstrating descriptive skills and clarity in explaining complex topics in a way readers can easily understand.
Done in my first few months of reporting, this piece explores the shortcomings of the municipal recycling system.
An exclusive opportunity came up to participate in an interview with Rep. Mark Alford (R-Mo.) about veteran-owned businesses.
A great reflection on my ability to take notes and quickly turn a piece for web and print publication with a two-hour deadline following the meeting.
My first dive into transportation issues as a collaborative piece with others writers coordination with the graphics team.
Publication Design
Below is a selection of my work that best reflects my experience. This will be continually updated as I complete more work.
